The big news this week for The Los Gatos Social Club is that, at long last, we have a Consigliere.
It’s been distressing for us to have gone on so long with this critical position unfilled, what with the litigenous nature of our society and all. Finally, however, we’ve identified an individual with a tremendous legal reputation held in great stead both in our community and by the judiciary. He also is of Italian/Irish heritage which further adds to his significant credibility. It helps also that he has a warm and endearing personality and is a handsome fellow on top of it all.
So on behalf of the Executive Board of The Los Gatos Social Club, we take great pleasure in announcing Denny Nino as our Official Consigliere.
A little background on Denny…earlier in life, Denny made a run at celibacy spending several years back in his teens at St. Patrick’s Seminary. Regaining his senses, he finished high school at Bellarmine, then on to SJSU and Santa Clara University law school where he was classmates with Jim Emerson and Patrick O’Laughlin. He now serves as in-house counsel for Tri-Cal, a leading international supplier to agriculture.
OTHER NEWS:
The Los Gatos Social Club has spawned it’s first spinoff…a “Sex in the City” foursome plus who meet weekly for cocktails at the Toll House. Well a week or so ago members of this group, done up in their Friday evening finest, were having a great old time when they drew the attention of a gentleman at the bar who picked up the tab for their cocktails and appetizers. They thanked him and moved on to dinner – still at the Toll House. Not one to give up easily, the same gentleman then picked up their entire tab for dinner and wine. He then headed up to his suite upstairs where, according to Kelly Knowles, Linda Barnett and Joan Smith, he may still be waiting…at least that’s the way they’re telling it. Their group, which also includes Julie DiNapoli and Linda Carter, among others; insists that “what happens in the Toll House stays in the Toll House”. Seems they’ve used that line before!!!
Be sure to mark your calendars for Teri Hope’s Cajun Bash on Sunday afternoon, May 18th. The Los Gatos Social Club is in the process of contracting for a major shipment of fresh New Orleans crawfish to add to Teri’s already fabulous menu.
In the meantime, keep enjoying spring in Los Gatos. On some days, it just doesn’t get any better. And we hope to see you this Wednesday evening @6:30pm @45 Broadway for cocktails, followed by family style dinner at Gardino’s compete with all the wonderful wines you will be bringing.
Best regards,
Peter
PS: Forgot to mention regarding Denny’s appointment as Consigliere that he also picked up the tab last week…and it was for a pretty good sized group of us. Those of you who left early can just eat your hearts out!!!
PSS: Joke of the Week (in honor of our new Consigliere):
Why are lawyers buried twelve feet deep?
Because down deep, they’re nice folks.
