News of the Week for The Los Gatos Social Club March 14, 2008

Okay, get ready for a special dinner this week, especially for all our drop dead gorgeous single gals!

The Los Gatos Social Club welcomes the most eligible bachelor in the entire 15th Congressional District...plus he's a Democrat, and they do tend to be more fun to go to parties with. For a hint, check out the link below.

Plus, he's a Super Delegate to the Democratic Convention so he can fill us in on the behind-the-scenes maneuvering that's going on these days. If the pressure gets too frustrating, perhaps we can get him to jump ship to the McCain camp and become the first "Super Delegate for the Super Hero".

DINNER THIS WEEK:

Cocktails @45 Broadway @6:30 followed by dinner and hour or so later @Gardino's. Remember to bring a bottle of vin extraordinaire for dinner.

OTHER NEWS:

Patrick O'Laughlin, our Chairman of the Board, continues to recuperate from his 60 day cruise - go figure that one out - and will hopefully be back with us within another week or so.

Colleen Wilcox, our favorite school teacher, has returned from Viet Nam where she joined other members of the San Jose Rotary Club in continuing peace talks with the Viet Cong. She presented her hosts with a number of wheel chairs as a way of forgiving them for using up all our bombs back all those many years ago.

Jonathan Knowles, our Grand Poobah, is off racking up more frequent flyer miles this week and will miss our dinner. A week or so ago he left Los Gatos on a Monday, gave a talk in Spain, and was back for our Wednesday dinner. Jonathan, in case weren't aware, recorded close to a half million miles just last year. He's in a category so special that the airlines maintain a VIP jet for his exclusive use.

Congratulations to Michael Kane, who last week managed to overcome his inherent shyness and a bad case of stage fright as he successfully presided over his first meeting as Chair of the Los Gatos Planning Commission. Good going Michael!

Kathy Linton and Mary MacDonald have finally returned from a debauched, all female soirée to Las Vegas. What happened in Las Vegas, fortunately for them, has stayed in Las Vegas. Fortunately for us, however, they have not.

JOKE OF THE WEEK:

Has outsourcing gone too far?

I was depressed the other night so I call Lifeline.
Got a call center in Pakistan.
Told them I was suicidal.
They got all excited and asked if I could drive a truck.

Best regards,

Peter
