News of the Week for The Los Gatos Social Club February 4, 2008

For members and friends of The Los Gatos Social Club, yesterday was really a
SUPER Super Bowl!

Julie & Rick DiNapoli hosted about 50 of us. Thanks to their very large
home theater and second viewing area in their family room, everyone
interested in watching the game was able to do so comfortably.

Our half-time entertainment beat out the televised one - Julie & Rick were
applauded for their efforts on behalf of Measure D per the photos attached.
They both had been drinking heavily and by this morning they had switched
sides back to the No on D effort.

Thanks to many, many of you for contributing food and adult beverages. Some
highlights:
* Julie DiNapoli's pasta and terrific Caesar salad
* Donna Boger's Chinese chicken salad
* Ira Spector's mini-tacos
* Marilyn & Frank Dorsa for a magnum of La Rusticana's finest
cabernet...Frank doesn't part with those too often!
* Ann Cali & Joanne Riley's burnt almond cake from Dick's Bakery
* Glynne Lewis & Michael Silva teaming up with myself & Dennise on Super
Bowl Chili w/Italian sausage and sirloin steak
* Dennise Carter for preparing shrimp cocktails for all ...and much, much
more I can't immediately remember.

DINNER THIS WEEK:

Regular schedule is on...dinner this Wednesday w/cocktails @6:30 @45
Broadway followed by family style dinner an hour or so later @Gardino's.

JOKE OF THE WEEK:

There are three sisters, the oldest is 96 years old, the next sister is 94,
and the youngest is 92.

Helen the oldest just get into the tub to take a bath. As she put her toe
into the water, she doesn't remember whether she is getting into or out of
the bath tub. So she yelled out to Mabel, the 94 year old sister "

Mabel! Am I getting into the bath or getting out of the bath?"

Upon hearing Helen, Mabel start to go up the stairs to see what is going on.

About half way up the stairs, she couldn't remember if she was going up the
stairs or going down the stairs, so she yelled out to her younger sister in
the kitchen, "Mary! Am I going up the stairs or going down the stairs?"

Mary, the youngest sister, was drinking coffee at the table and call to both
her sisters, " I don't know what you two would do without me here, thank
goodness my memory is still good, knock on wood!"

Then she knocks on the table twice and called back up her sisters, "Ok you
two, I will be right up after I answer the door."

Best regards,

Peter
